  1. “It’s all in the past. It wasn’t good before, but now it’s coming to an end. So NATO needs to pack up and go back to the 1997 borders,” commented the Russian Deputy Minister.

  2. >He pointed out in this regard that Russia is interested in hearing, during the upcoming contacts, clear statements regarding the non-expansion of NATO and the cancellation of the 2008 Bucharest Summit decision regarding Georgia and Ukraine joining that. to forbid.

    >It also meant the inadmissibility of the United States and NATO countries continuing to geopolitically exploit all the space they control to the west, northwest and southwest of Russia’s borders.

    >“**This is the main thing for us, not the aspects that the US side is currently focusing on**,” Ryabkov stressed, referring to Washington’s remarks to be discussed on Monday only on bilateral issues and issues related to strategic stability.

Thanks for totally clearing that up, Ryabkov. I’m sure that there was a lot of confusion on that point.

Why merely 1997? I mean, why settle for merely North Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, Albania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic when one could roll things back to 1989 and do East Germany too? I feel like we’re really taking the low-ambition route here. Don’t hold back, Ryabkov.

  3. Everyone and their mothers knew, that presenting preposterous demands is not going to meet with agreement. Their very goal is not to see the progress in talks.
